Assignment 1/26 Movie/Book
So, we watched the movie today in class, and I was disappointed. The movie was not like how I would want it to be. The actor playing Morrie doesn't portray him as good as I would have thought. I picture Morrie different and it messed with my imaginitive juices. I also thought Mitch would look different. That's why I don't really like watching movies of books that I read. The interview part in the movie took parts of the real interview in it. It made the movie interview almost authentic when it showed the same thing in the real one about Morrie getting his back rubbed and patted on. The movie focuses more on Mitch's personal life like being married to his wife, Janine. In the book so far, it's in there, but it's not the main part of the story. Most of the plot was the same though as far as Mitch always being busy. The segment when Mitch is in the car compares well with the scene in the book. There are a lot of parts that are similar, and parts that are different that I don't like. We can't have all that we want though can we? Especially when the company that made it works for Oprah Winfrey! :)

Hey Kyle. I have to comment you so listen up and stop rippin on Oprah! Whatever...I dont care. I agree with what you said about Mitch looking different. In my mind Mitch seemed...idk just different. When it comes to the actor that plays Morrie I think he doesnt do so bad. You have a reference when you watch the interview. Plus, we just started the movie so he might still come closer to reaching your expectations.
ReplyDeleteHere's my question, will watching the rest of the movie take away from your vision of Morrie OR will it be ingrained in who you believe him to be that by the end, the Movie version (Jack Lemmon) will be the Morrie you think about when you think about the book. Consider that.
